It
was my second trip to Beijing, but the first time I
went to Forbidden City. After noon, the Tian’anmen crashed
into my eyes when I came out of the subway station.
Meridian Gate (Wu Men), was the second one I saw, then
the three Harmony Halls, and the Imperial Garden (Yu
Huayuan). The order of imperial power was contrary:
first the Supreme Hall (Taihe Dian), second the road
to Tian’anmen, then the Temple of Heaven, last the whole
China Empire.
In the summer of 2002, I finally
arrived at the Summer Palace after several hours in
the bus. Despite the hot weather, I had even seen what
the Kunming Lake reflected a brilliant picture. I walked
through the Xidi which was laid in the blue lake, then
had a bird eye on the colored Longevity Hill, at last
ended the tour at the tomb of Yé-liu Tch'ou-ts'ai
who gained a mastery of Chinese culture as a Khitai
royal. |
